General needs for mountain climbing
Essential:
1. Backpack for own belongings
2. Enough clothing
3. Sweater
4. Jacket
5. Cotton mask
6. Thick cotton gloves
7. Thick cotton socks (at least 2 pairs)
8. Hiking shoe with good grip
9. Rain coat or poncho
10. Torchlight tied with string, extra batteries
11. Medicine (Panadol, headache oil, lips moisturizer, plaster and other personal medicine)
12. Energy food (Energy bar, chocolate, sweets, raisin, fruits, bread or biscuit)
13. Toiletries
14. 500ml water bottle tied with string
15. Sufficient amount of money
Optional:
1. Camera
2. Extra food (3 in 1 instant beverage, tidbits, cans food, mee cup, alcohol drinks, ginger juice)
前几天,看了我朋友send给我的email后,我差点晕了下去,天啊!!原来爬神山需要这么多东西,我还以为随便带一些食物、水什么的就够了...
需要sweater, jacket, cotton mask, thick cotton gloves, thick cotton socks...哇,难道神山真的那么冷吗?我可没有那种在冰天雪地穿的毛衣哦,哈哈...
raincoat & poncho...下雨还要爬山吗?那不是很危险咯??
torchlight and water bottle tied with string...朋友说把水壶和手电筒用绳子绑着,这样爬山就容易多了,因为爬山手要抓东西...哈哈,听起来好像蛮刺激的,抓抓抓...我一定会很努力抓的,哈哈...
就这样咯,六月一日就要飞到沙巴去爬神山了,希望一切顺利,也希望我们成功登上神山,留下我们的脚印和胜利的欢呼声 (^-^)

Oooo.. someone's going tramping!! FUN!! I wanna go too!
Tips on why you need all these stuff:
1. Backpack- duh..but do bring pack your stuff into plastic bags in case things get wet.. unless you want to invest in a bagpack protector. =) It is one of the most important thing. If possible, have a bag that gives you the best support - e.g. hip support and not just have all the weight on your shoulders as it will hurt a lot.
2. enough clothing? Erm... maybe an extra set or two for the climb. Expect to get wet from rain and sweat. No jeans coz its heavy and will wear you down.
3. sweater - erm... Not heavy cotton one incase it gets wet coz of rain. Fleece is best.
4. Jacket - Waterproof jacket is an essential.
5. Cotton mask - not sure why you need this.. A BEANIE would be good to keep your head warm (A must have) coz you lose 60% (sth like that of heat from your head)
6. Thick cotton gloves - if you have to.. especially with your cold hands. HAHA
7. Thick cotton socks (at least 2 pairs)- Erm.. I don't know about cotton socks.. HAHA.. but LONG Sport socks are advisable.
8. Hiking shoe with good grip - A definite must!! I recently invest a significant amount on a pair of good quality tramping boots after wearing out my lousy ones. HAHA...
9. Rain coat or poncho - waterproof would do... if breathable even better.
10. Torchlight tied with string, extra batteries - put in plastic bags...
11. Medicine (Panadol, headache oil, lips moisturizer, plaster and other personal medicine)
12. Energy food (Energy bar, chocolate, sweets, raisin, fruits, bread or biscuit) - BRING A LOT! Chocolates and sweets are the best. Its better to bring too many than too few coz you need all the energy you can get.

14. 500ml water bottle tied with string - I don't think 500ml is enough. I always bring a 750ml water and a 800ml energy drink (like those with electrolites whatever - we have different kinds here in NZ.. dunno about Msia)Don't know why you need to tie to string if your bag has those side pockets to put water bottles in... You need to keep hydrated all the time.
15. Sufficient amount of money
16. Ohh.. and BRING A SMALL TOWEL.. for sweat and wiping off rain. Highly useful.
